About
Vendedy is a social enterprise tech startup that connects global consumers to the most remote street artisan designs. What started as a student blog conversation about digitizing the street vending industry is now a street art movement for the rural poor. Vendedy is dubbed the emerging "Etsy/Ebay of the Caribbean" and the future "Alibaba for Street Vendors". The start up positions itself as the first mobile bidding marketplace for street artisans in the world. For the first time, street artisans can upload photos of their work onto online galleries via mobile technology, await consumers to bid on their work within 3-14 day time intervals, drop off their products at drop off centers and finally receive payment via sms message once the order is delivered. Consumers can now access rural poor artisan designs that come with a story from over 150+ countries.
