Tutor Toot is an online tutoring platform that aims to fill the gap in traditional parental homework assistance - which is key to educational success. When we were kids our parents always helped us with our homework. Without that help we might have just given up and fallen behind. But many kids today, especially from disadvantaged areas, don't have anyone they can turn to at home for homework help. And they can't afford to pay for tutors, either. The key idea here is that this service will be self-sustaining because it will have a commercial as well as an altruistic side. We will charge those who can afford to pay and use part of our revenues to fund free services for those who cannot afford to pay. We will motivate our tutors to accept less or no pay when they're helping disadvantaged students by giving them priority when they're helping paying students.
