About
The Tsunami of change in education has started to crest. The large educational book publishers are seeing their market shares eroded by a deluge of new EdTech start-ups, just as it happened in advertising 15 years ago. The portion of school budgets dedicated to digital products is continuing to grow, and those dollars will enable an outsized number of EdTech start-ups to be successful. Smart venture capitalists know these changes are happening and are pouring money into education technology, mostly at the "Series A" stage and later. The result is that valuations are inflated, putting pressure on potential returns. The real opportunity in EdTech is at the Seed stage. Most angel investors are generalist. Though the education sector might seem easy to understand since we all went to school, it's actually very complex. By contrast, The EdTech Fund's experience in education enables us to choose the right investments and help them become successful through a very hands-on partnership.
