We're building a tool for journalists to discover credible sources on Twitter, using custom search technology to find relevant, expert voices. Our product is a search application at its core that is developed on top of Twitter, and designed to generate and rank a set of users (individual people) in response to keyword queries. The technology is driven by machine learning and some pre-selection, analyzing users' networks, lists and patterns of interactions to derive the most useful, authoritative and in some cases undiscovered voices on Twitter. This application is being developed intently to help reporters, editors, and newsrooms better find high-quality voices on social media, and ultimately help make their reporting better sourced.
