A ReadUp is a social reading experience. Think of it as meeting up inside a book (or URL, or your own writing sample). ReadUps uses a web-based reading system for tablets and laptops. Uploading an ebook file creates a ReadUp event, so you can invite friends via Twitter to read with you for a limited amount of time, sharing comments on paragraphs. Give people the URL to your ReadUp and you're good to go - you can even message others reading with you in real time, or use a hashtag to set the conversation. When allotted time runs out, the ReadUp disappears. For a few bucks you can drop a password on your ReadUp, as well. It's a great tool for friends to read something together, and also helps get feedback on writing, promote new books, and for classes to meet and discuss coursework.
