New York Empire is the first professional Ultimate (Frisbee) team in New York and is a member of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL). The AUDL consists of sixteen teams and is set up in a three division format. Regular season games are played on Saturdays and Sundays during the months of April, May, June, and July. Division championships are played in the middle of July and culminate with the championship game on July 27th, 2014. The Empire finished the 2013 regular season with an 11-5 record and defeated the Philadelphia Phoenix in the Eastern Conference semi-finals to earn a birth in Championship Weekend in Chicago where the team lost to eventual AUDL champion, Toronto Rush.
