Your friends know what you like and they want to help. Social is the new word-of-mouth, and asking for local advice is an obvious, everyday activity. But the effort is usually wasted: It generates unstructured data that's quickly lost. City Notes solves both of these problems in a fun, simple, fast product. City Notes started as a hand-curated e-mail that co-founder Dan Frommer used to send friends — the very best places in Tokyo, Paris, Barcelona, and New York — and then a series of paid iPhone apps.
