Vaso-Wraps® are FDA registered class 1 medical devices indicated for SAFE WARMTH and LIMITED PROTECTION. Vaso-Wraps® are made of thick custom quilted nylon that wraps around a limb, usually the lower legs, quickly and easily with velcro. There are NO electrical wires or heating elements that might burn a person, especially a diabetic, while they sleep. Vaso-Wraps® produce PROLONGED SAFE WARMTH. Prolonged Safe Warmth increases circulation by PROLONGED SAFE VASODILATATION or "PSV." Most older diabetics suffer from poor circulation which can cause slow or non-healing wounds and foot ulcers. These chronic wounds usually take months to heal and costs thousand of dollars to treat successfully and $20,000 to $50,000 if treatment fails and an amputation occurs. We plan to use images from smart phones to treat and monitor wound care. We have already helped to avoid three expected lower extremity amputations due to non-healing ischemic diabetic ulcers. Two were at the VA in Connecticut.
